While the skin on your face is relatively delicate, the skin all over your body is considerably thicker. Nonetheless, it benefits greatly from exfoliation. Rejuvenate skin by gently rubbing it with a dry, soft bristled brush prior to showering. Not only will your oil glands be stimulated, your skin will remain moisturized for longer. Use circular motions when brushing, starting with your feet and moving up to your face. Finish it off with gentle soaping in a warm shower.
Paint your toenails before you go to bed. Make sure you have given your nail polish plenty of time to dry before going to bed. When you shower in the morning you can easily peel off any excess polish that you get on your toes for that perfect manicured look.
Blot oily skin. If you are out on the town and notice your face is oily, use toilet paper to blot your skin. This works as well as any blotting paper and will remove any excess oil you may have on your skin and give you a perfect flawless look.
To help increase the elasticity of skin and thereby reduce the chances of stretch marks, depend on olive oil! Everyone has olive oil in the kitchen and every week you need to bring it in the bathroom and use it in place of your regular moisturizer after showering. Massage it well into your stomach, buttocks and thighs for improved skin strength and to keep those nasty stretch marks away!
Hand lotion can be a great fix for a bad hair day! In the cold of winter when static has you looking electric, rub a small amount of lotion on your hands and gently pat your hair down. In the humid summer, do the same on the ends of your hair to tame frizz!
Do not use conditioner on a daily basis if you have a fine hair texture. In fact, using it once or twice a week would be plenty. Conditioners will weigh your hair down, giving it a dull look. If you want light and shiny hair, use conditioner sparingly.
If you have skin that tends to get shiny, you can do one of two things throughout the day. If you want to be fancy, you can buy a packet of face-blotting sheets. These smell wonderful and are impregnated with scented transparent powder. Or you can take a sheet of regular toilet paper and press, not rub, on the oily areas.
When you are filing your nails, be sure to only go in one direction. If you go back and forth you are sure to weaken the nail. The stress that this causes will damage the nail plate and make your nails more susceptible to breaking a lot more easily then they will if you go in one direction when filing.
Even if you have greasy skin, you should apply moisturizer to it, at least, when you go to bed. Oil on your face may lead you to believe that you have an excessive amount of moisture in your skin but that is not the kind of moisture that your skin needs, in order to remain healthy.
Help reduce the appearance of the dark shadows and bags around your eyes by giving yourself a bit of a massage. Use some good moisturizer on your fingertips and massage around the eye area. It assists with lymphatic drainage around your eyes and will reduce the appearance of the damage.
Do you want a tan look but do not have any self-tanner? Try adding a little bronzer to your moisturizer. You can then use this as your own personal self-tanner to get the color you desire. If you take this route, you can find your desired color without having to get anything mixed.
