CABBAGE POTATO SOUP RECIPE
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, diced, (about 2 cups)
2 stalks of celery, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 -15 ounces can of crushed (or diced) tomatoes
2 cups chicken bone broth
5 cups water
1 medium cabbage, thinly sliced (10-12 cups)
1 pound baby potatoes, cut into bite-sized pieces
Salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese to serve
Heat olive oil in a heavy pot over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add in the onions and celery. Give it a pinch of salt and saute for 5 minutes or until the onions are beginning to look translucent.
Stir in coriander, smoked paprika, and oregano before adding in the crushed tomatoes. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the cabbage, salt, pepper, broth, and water. Stir well, turn up the heat, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add in potatoes, and simmer for another 15 minutes or until the potatoes and cabbage are tender. Adjust seasonings as desired.
Ladle into your favorite bowl and serve with a hearty sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of black pepper. Enjoy.
Note: You can swap diced tomatoes for crushed tomatoes if you have them on hand. Try adding an extra layer of flavor by using fire-roasted tomatoes or tomatoes with basil.
Both savoy cabbage and green cabbage work really well in this recipe.

Beauty Tips That You Just Need To Know
Almost every woman – and more than one man – has a well-established personal beauty regimen. There is so much useful advice available in the field that the odds are very good that a few quick tips can significantly improve the effectiveness of a beauty routine. Here are some tips:
Always keep moisturizer handy for the best looking skin. During the winter, your skin can become dry and brittle and a moisturizer will counter this. You will prevent this dryness and cracking by moisturizing well.
Make your nail polish last longer. You can make your nails look like you just had a manicure and last longer by using a base coat, 2 coats of color and a top coat. This will provide your nails with a glossy look that will last for at least a few weeks.
The tanning process can cause a lot of complications when your pores and follicles are still open. If you do it anyway, you take the risk of severe irritation. Your skin is delicate after waxing or sugaring, and you should avoid products that contain harsh chemicals or fragrances that can cause discomfort.
Use a face mask at least once a week. Depending on which one you choose, this will help remove impurities from your face. A mud or clay mask is best for removing impurities. You will see results immediately. Once you find a mask you like, you should stick with it.
Emphasize the sharpness of your cheekbones by applying a shade of powder blush that is one shade deeper than your normal cheek color product. Using a blush brush, dab on a spot of the powder in the hollows of your cheeks just under the cheekbones. Remove excess powder, then blend in a circular motion.
To determine whether you have cool or warm skin tones, check out the veins on the inside of your wrist. If you have cool skin, the veins will appear bluish in color. If you have warm skin, they will have a greenish tint instead. Cool skin tones look best in cool colors, such as blue and purple, whereas warm skin tones, look best in warm colors like red, yellow and orange.
If your hair is greasy or oily, an easy way to fix this if you don’t have time to wash it, is to use a bronzer compact or baby powder. Brunettes should carry bronzer compact and add to extra oily hair, and blondes should do the same with baby powder. This will temporarily hide your unwashed hair.
Use hydrogen peroxide to cure yellowed nails. Nothing is beautiful about yellowing nails. To fix this problem, soak cotton in peroxide and then wipe each nail for several strokes. Let it sit on your nails for a few minutes. Rinse your nails, and admire the lack of yellow coloring.
To open up your pores and have any blemishes removed, steaming is a wonderful option. Put your face over a bowl of steaming hot water with a dry towel placed on you head. Do this as long as you can being careful not to burn yourself. When you have had enough splash your face with cold water to close the pores and make your skin more firm.
If you suffer from hair loss or brittle hair it may be caused by a poor diet and a lack of essential nutrients. In order to ensure that your hair is strong and healthy consider supplementing your diet with the following vitamins: Iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin H, Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and Zinc.
For calming skin inflammation rose and lavender are excellent ways to calm these areas. It can either be a lotion or a cream and can be used on any area of the body. There are a variety of products available in an organic form and many that have not been tested on animals.
You can save the last nail polish in the bottom of a bottle by adding a small amount of acetone-based nail polish remover. Shake the bottle up and then proceed to paint your nails. Although the color may lighten slightly, it will essentially be the same color.
Try using neck stretches and good posture for a great looking neck. A healthy neck is as important as a healthy face. Do not treat the neck area the same as the face because both of them age differently. Over time the tendons in the neck shrink and the thin skin does not respond in the same way as the skin of the face does to peels and lasers.
A great way to make small eyes appear to look much bigger is to steer clear of dark shades of eye shadow. Begin by using a nude base as a foundation, and then use a shadow that is one or two shades darker than the foundation in the crease. After blend the color up towards the brow by using your finger.
There are some things that should be avoided after waxing. Avoid using tanning beds or getting any exposure to direct sunlight. Also, refrain from touching hot water, as this can cause irritation. Your pores will be very open after waxing and hot water could be very irritating. Waiting is something that will benefit you!
If you love the brightness of red lipstick, but hate how it looks when it smears, then you should keep some makeup remover handy. If the dreaded smear ever happens, use a cotton ball or tissue dipped in makeup remover to erase the stain. Now you won’t have to worry what color lipstick you choose for the day.
If you have woken up with splotchy, irritated or puffy skin, then look to tea bags for a cure. No, not for drinking in this case, but to dab on the problem areas. Use a tea bag of green tea that has been steeped for a minute or two and cooled. You then dab it on your face, and let the natural antioxidants in the tea reduce the inflammation.
The processes, techniques and products that make up a personalized beauty regimen need not be expensive or time-consuming. Even though satisfactory beauty results depend on hard work, working smarter can save a lot of time. Tips like the ones above might be valuable keys to getting better results with less effort.
