To help your eyeliner last all day, apply a thin layer of eyeshadow in a matching color over the top of it. Most eyeliners have a tendency to fade or run throughout the day. This is particularly true for oil-based eyeliner pencils. You can eliminate this problem by brushing a layer of matching eyeshadow directly over the top of the eyeliner using a thin makeup brush. You can adjust your hair’s style and color to better accentuate the shape of your face. Try a hairstyle that features long and sleek lines. The length of it should land between your shoulders and jawline. Highlights or lowlights will frame your face. These look good and will make your face more attractive.
Keep pink lipstick in your makeup bag for days when you have a blemish. Applying a warm toned pink lipstick will draw away attention from blemishes and send them looking at your beautiful lips. A pair of distracting lips and some well-placed concealer will prevent that blemish from ever being noticed.
Avoid licking your lips. When you constantly lick your lips, rather than become moist, they actually dry out. Try carrying a lip balm or gloss in your pocket or purse, and put it on anytime you feel like doing some licking. You will soon find your lips in beautiful condition.
Make a natural, alcohol free mouthwash using purified water and peppermint oil. Add one drop of peppermint oil for every ounce of water. The purified water should initially be boiled. Then place the number of drops of oil you require into a large glass or ceramic container. Add boiling water to the pot. Cover with any clean cloth such as cheese cloth, or another thin fabric, and let the mouthwash cool. Pour the liquid into a bottle that has a lid that fits tightly. Now you have a natural, alcohol free mouthwash!
Always remove makeup before going to bed. If you sleep with your makeup on, you increase the likelihood you will get acne and blackheads. Makeup can trap dirt and oil on your face. Clean and tone your face every night. Don’t forget to add moisturizer when you are finished cleaning.
Make sure that your blush and your lip color are in harmony. If you are using blush, it is important to make sure that it matches the color you are using for your lips. Pink should be with pink, red with red, etc. If the colors vary too greatly from one another, they will clash terribly.
To clean your skin without depriving it of its natural oils, use a cream cleanser. A cream cleanser will help lock in the skin healthy oils on your face, and will also leave your face moisturized and glowing. Using this type of cleanser will slow the development of fine lines and wrinkles.
To keep the skin around your eyes from getting dry, use a moisturizing eye cream every night. By keeping the skin around your eyes well moisturized, you will protect it from developing dark circles, wrinkles, and lines.
To get smaller pores, cut refined sugars from your diet. Eating large amounts of refined sugar enlarges your pores, and can also lead to breakouts. If you have a sweet tooth, try sating your cravings with natural sugars like the ones found in fruit. Your skin will definitely thank you for it!
Paint your toenails before you go to bed. Make sure you have given your nail polish plenty of time to dry before going to bed. When you shower in the morning you can easily peel off any excess polish that you get on your toes for that perfect manicured look.
Keep the back of your head top priority when styling your hair. This area is harder to style and if you’re tired once you get around to that area it can ruin your whole look.
You’ve heard it’s important to exfoliate, but you don’t need to spend a lot of money on expensive loofah bath mitts or scrubs. Any drugstore, grocery store, or dollar store sells inexpensive kitchen sponge/scrubbers (where the rough side is green and the sponge side is yellow). These sponges work great for body exfoliation – but please don’t use the green side on your face.
You are very good at applying your makeup and washing it off at the end of the day. Are you as diligent when cleaning your makeup brushes? Chances are, you are not. It is advised to wash your makeup brushes at least once a month using a gentle soap such as baby shampoo. Lather them up gently, rinse, and let them air dry.
Try using neck stretches and good posture for a great looking neck. A healthy neck is as important as a healthy face. Do not treat the neck area the same as the face because both of them age differently. Over time the tendons in the neck shrink and the thin skin does not respond in the same way as the skin of the face does to peels and lasers.
